So, one guy over the pond managed to get LoL working on Ubuntu 10.10 with Wine 1.3.6 and put it all together in one script.

http://www.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=329662

Now, I'm running the script on Ubuntu, but I manage to get errors in the end when installing the packages from Winetricks - here is the snippet from the part that won't work:

Quote:
#We download winetricks

wget http://www.kegel.com/wine/winetricks

#Make it executable.

sudo chmod +x ~/.wine-1.3.6 winetricks

#Run winetricks in our new prefix and install the required packages, this will bring some popup windows, everything there should be installed correctly before proceding.

sudo WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.wine-1.3.6 ./winetricks gecko
sudo WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.wine-1.3.6 ./winetricks d3dx9
sudo WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.wine-1.3.6 ./winetricks vcrun2005
sudo WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.wine-1.3.6 ./winetricks adobeair
sudo WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.wine-1.3.6 ./winetricks ie6
sudo WINEPREFIX=/.wine-1.3.6 ./winetricks win2k
sudo WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.wine-1.3.6 ./winetricks wininet

It downloads and everything, but I manage to get these errors, and the packages from Winetricks won't install - this is the output from the terminal:

So my question is, anyone able to help me out here? How would I install the packages required by LoL for Wine when Wine is compiled (like the script does, but fails to install them).

I really want LoL to get working on Ubuntu, but at this point I can't get anywhere.

Thanks in advance.

The program 'wine' can be found in the following packages:
* wine1.2
* wine1.0
Try: apt-get install <selected package>

I think that wine is not added to registry or smth like that. But i do not know what to do with that...

hmm i think i got the problem right..

"ls /usr/bin/ |grep wine"
if you dont get a file just named wine ( if its named wine-1.3 for example )
try to symlink it ( "ln -s /usr/bin/wine-1.3 /usr/bin/wine" for example )
