Greetings Summoners,

My name is ChronopolisCC. I am a member of your League of Legends Technical Player Support team and Im here to tell you about a change in the upcoming patch. In an effort to increase the stability of our servers, we will be making a change to our chat system which may result in some players receiving the attached error message upon attempting to log in.

In preparation wed like to proactively help you make some changes that could prevent you from losing any play time.

1) The most common solution is to sync your Windows clock. Double check that the Time, Date and especially year settings are correct.
2) As an out of date Windows install may generate this error, please download all available Windows updates here: update.microsoft.com
3) Your firewall may be blocking the connection. Make sure that you have exceptions set for the League of Legends PVP.Net server in your firewall. Add this executable to your exception list:

C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\projects\lol_air_client\releases\0.0. 0.68\deploy\LolClient.exe

NA: beta.lol.riotgames.com
EUW: prod.eu.lol.riotgames.com
EUNE: prod.eun1.lol.riotgames.com

If none of these resolve your issue feel free to visit our more detailed Knowledge Base article here:

OK - I don't think I am actually getting as far as most people. I click on the LoL icon on my desktop and before anything loads I am getting the following message - "Could not connect to the HTTP server. Please check that your internet connection is enabled and that your firewall is not blocking access"

My internet is fine, I have turned off my firewall on both the PC and the modem. This is the same PC that was playing this game perfectly just 10 hours ago. (Obviously I can connect to Riot as I am sending this post).

Here is the tracert to the EU West server address listed above:

I've tried resyncing my clock and checked for windows update every day since this started happening to me.
I also disable my firewall and my anti-virus (avast!) each time I open LoL, yet still it gives me this error almost all the time I log in.
The strange thing is I am able to occasionally log on and play a game, only a single game though since after that it freezes in the next champion selection. I can also log onto the NA servers fine and play a few games over there, albeit laggy, it is still possible.

I am also not that knowledgeable about the firewall, that's why I just disable it, so the part about adding to my exceptions list is new to me.
I know how to get to the list and browse to programs but for some reason I don't have a
"C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\projects\lol_air_client\releases\0.0. 0.68",
there is a 0.0.0.60, .69 and .70, all of which have had the LoLClient.exe added to the exceptions.

I am also confused about:
"NA: beta.lol.riotgames.com
EUW: prod.eu.lol.riotgames.com
EUNE: prod.eun1.lol.riotgames.com"
I don't really know what I'm supposed to do with this.

Hi

Had the same problem from about the 16th of aug and i just added the:

C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\projects\lol_air_client\releases\0.0. 0.68\deploy\LolClient.exe

that ChronopolisCC suggested into my firewall settings (norton) and it has logged me on for the first time since. Il keep updated to see if it keeps allowing me to play games but otherwise seems to have worked so far.

Thankyou
