Armour Penetration Quints vs Attack Damage Quints.

Which is best to run on an AD champ and why?

I've been running Armour Pen Quints with Armour Pen Marks for a base of 25. But everybody I speak to says the 7 attack damage from AD Quints benefits you more than the 10 Armour Pen.

depends

AD runes if you focus on last hitting
ARP runes if you focus on harassing

Don't be so rude.

Armor Penetration is mandatory on any AD carry.
But this doesn't mean that you should focuse everything on ArPen, because flat ArPen doesn't work well with percentage ArPen.

A lot of pros use ArPen Marks and flat AD Quints, because it delivers the better early game harrassment and easier last hitting.
This can snowball into a very good late game.

ArPen Marks and Quints is the best possible choice during mid game before you get Last Whisper.

Scaling AD marks + ArPen Quints is a good late game choic eafter you get Last Whisper.

ArPen Marks + Quints is perfect for bruisers, that build Stark's Fervor and/or Yoummu's Ghostblade.

Fun fact:

There was mathcraft around that calculated ArP marks vs AD marks
That mathcraft said AD-marks are better early and ArP better mid-late

so you get 1,74ArP more for each AD you would get (all in marks)

for quints it is only 1,48ArP more for each AD

so actually the AD qunits are better into mid game than the marks therefore they are kinda even and it is only preference if you use ArP

I myself usually go AD quints on champions with good AD ratios or AD-range-carries and ArP quints on everyone with high basedmg on AD-spells (mostlikely bruisers)

See it was a good question and the anwer to it is: take whatever you prefer... it isn't a huge difference overall

Armour pen of course, it will be more useful mid to late game. Pure damage runes are generally only useful early on (where there are less kill opportunities).

I personally use Flat AD on melee Casters like Renekton. You know, people who rely more on the spells rather than the auto attack.

I use Arm pen on people who need to AA as much as they spellcast. Like Trynd or Lee Sin.
