Hello,

I don't want to make this thread a personal sob thread, but I'd like to share some piece of evidence that this community is going places, not college, but places.

It starts out in the Champion select. The rage is triggered by something so dismal, e.g the enemy team bans Zed and a person on our team "loses his excrement" because of that and starts writing in caps lock how bad our team captain is for letting the enemy team to ban Zed.

Don't even bother with having a bad game or a bad start. It's pretty much hopeless. As for myself, I had a variety of games, one of them were great and the other half of the games were just "meh" (Defeat), so I can say that it is 50-50. There are a great number of advices on the internet on how to cope with the trolls and ragers of the League, but it's like being a teacher of 9 freshly-brainwashed people. You can advise them to do something (E.g. place a ward there and here, retreat or etc.), but this advice sort of repels and goes back to you with a full force of rage.

I got myself placed in Silver V and have set a goal of climbing to Gold. Boy oh boy will it be hard and sometimes frustrating... The last game I had was horrible behaviour-wise, but not game-wise. I mean if you lose, you lose, just carry on and improve. But is there something that could improve the behaviour of this community? I tried following the guides of coping with the ragers but it sometimes doesn't work that way.

If the community is going places, can we make them go to college? Or maybe can we make them to see the principle? i.e. to face the consequences? Can this person get some sort of ranked or chat restriction?

Just a thought.

There are several pictures from the last match that we did poorly and lost. End-game lobby chat.

Warning - Huge NOOB content inside.

I applaud you for blanking all the names in those screenshots I was expecting naming&shaming...

Also, there's only one thing you can do: finish the game, ignore and report the nasty players, move on to the next game. Stick to that.

Oh I'm not saying my suggestions will save the game from trolls and nasty players! I'm suggesting it'll help you save your sanity. It's just not worth it to let griefers and annoying people get to you.

So consider the game target practice, ignore and report and forget about them. They're not worth fussing over.

Yes, these players exists sadly. But you can't change them. They can only change themselves. So therefor, you start by looking at yourself: Were you (very) negative ingame? Then try to control your temper. It will have a postive influence on other as well. If someone goes on a flame strike because someone else on your team died, try to calm him down. "It will be fine, its just 1 kill, so if we kill him, its even more gold for us". If they still go on a rampage, mute them and report them after the game. It will safe you a lot of frustration when you cant actually 'hear' them.

The thing is while you can influence your "sanity" by muting them, you can't really change the flow of the game as the impact of them toxic players, let us say "Calm down, it's just 1 kill" will ruin everything. He either quits the game or proceeds to flame at others or just simply dies several times to the enemey.

The truth is really gloomy because there are players like this in 70% of the games whether it is your or the enemy's team. At least on my level of MMR.

Then that is something we need to accept.

There's a very simple model, known as the spheres of influence (http://static.lukew.com/influence_control.gif).
* There are things you can control
* There are things you can influence
* Anything else is out of your control

You control your own behavior and are thus solely in charge of your own mistakes and communications. You can attempt to influence your team, if they are willing to communicate with you. Theoretically you can also influence Riot's treatment of these players by using the reporting system.

But anyone who decides to step outside those boundaries is outside of your reach. No matter how you rage, or curse, or talk with them, you cannot stop their bad behavior. Nobody can, except for themselves. It is entirely unproductive to put so much effort into trying to control something that's outside your own sphere of control/influence.

Accept that you cannot influence them and try to get the best you can for yourself out of a game that's pretty much lost already. Define a new goal for yourself (CS improvement, test a new build, or win that 4-v-5). Etc...
