I agree that having poke is an advantage but there's some ranged champs that have rubbish poke. Melee champs work well if you're against a team with a limited frontline and you're weaknesses aren't taken advantage of quickly. After 15mins once you get a few items then the tides start to turn - especially when a tower or two has gone so they have too far to kite.

Another aspect is not all players are at the same skill level so you can't go into a match expecting that Ziggs or Xerath to know how to play that champion.

Melee teams can be decently strong besides you need melee to take the damage and knock up and pull like blitz for example.Anyway my point is melee teams are great full melee or partially melee and they all have their strengths and weaknesses. You don't need to buff melees in aram they are strong enough to handle it
