Overview:
  • New champion-borders

  • Less frustration when loosing, because you still progress
  • New skill competition for individual champs
  • New summoner icons to achieve long term
The New Concept:
Do you often ask yourself what champion you want to play?
Is it difficult to find the champion you want to select sometimes?
I developed a concept solving these problems (and more)!
Each champion will receive an own border based on the amount of games you played this champ.
  • 10 Games = Bronze
  • 25 Games = Silver
  • 50 Games = Gold
  • 75 Games = Platinum
  • 100 Games = Diamond

The goal of my concept is to give players more motivation to play new champs and to improve old champs as well. To play a champion the first time is fun (for some people / sometimes). To master a champion is something completely different but it is just as exciting.
I suggest the following rewards to prevent playing just one champ for 100 games instead of playing some variations:
  • Any new border rewards you with 350 IP (NOT RP).
  • Border-upgrades reward you with 250 IP.
If you want to gain as many borders as possible you automatically will get to really know more and more champions of the League of Legends.
Possibly you ignore many champs without knowing whether they may become your favorite champs one day.
I myself often avoided champions and refused to play them until ARAM forced me to do so and then I realized how much I enjoyed playing them.
Also mastering a champion will be a greater experience. You will be proud having mastered about 3 champions. This will be obvious by your diamond or even challenger champion border.
Additionally there will be summoner icons as rewards:
  • Icon 1 = 10 Borders
  • Icon 2 = 25 Borders
  • Icon 3 = 50 Borders
  • Icon 4 = 90 Borders
  • Icon 5 = 250 Borders
Without my concept you may think a lost game is wasted time. But even if you lost a game you have practiced a champion and you have improved your skill.
With my concept you will achieve the new champion-borders and the summoner icons in every game, not only in ranked games and regardless if you win or lose.
Losing will be less frustating, because you are progressing. This will be more inspiring, motivating and much more fun.
The champion borders optionally can be visible to your team or even to the opponents. But I think Riot does not want to provide too many opponent-player informations.
I additionaly suggest a challenger border for the Top 100 people who played a champion most on a server. The attainment of a challenger border may be rewarded with a skin for this champion (except legendary, ultimate, limited and rare skins) or some RP if you already earned all available skins.
This creates an additional competition.
There will be a ranking of the players who played a champion most.

The Program simulates how many borders an avarage player with X-amount of games would have.
It is even possible to change the amount of games needed for every border!

After discussion with the community I came to
NEW recommanded grading to earn borders:
10 Games = Bronze
25 Games = Silver
75 Games = Gold
125 Games = Platinum
200 Games = Diamond

Also slightly changes on recommended summoner-icon-reward:
Icon 1 = 10 Borders (or upgrades)
Icon 2 = 25 Borders (or upgrades)
Icon 3 = 75 Borders (or upgrades)
Icon 4 = 125 Borders (or upgrades)
Icon 5 = 250 Borders (or upgrades)

Also a change on ranked-games:
I think only WON-games should count in ranked games, to avoid peaple from picking champs in ranked only to get the borders!

Not sure if the bronze to diamond thing should be used on this, but since i cant think of anything to improve opon that i must agree.

I like the concept. I'm sure many people would have fun collecting champion borders.
Because you already get the highest border for only 100 games, it also reduces the risk of people stubborny locking in a particular champion, regardless of what the team already picked. This certainly would be a problem if the limit was higher (e.g. 1000 games).

i would sugguest one change rather then:

10 Games = Bronze
25 Games = Silver
50 Games = Gold
75 Games = Platinum
100 Games = Diamond

do this instead

40% wins = Bronze
50% wins = Silver
60% wins = Gold
70% wins = Platinum
80% wins = Diamond

I Hope Many would have fun collecting champion borders! I WOULD HAVE!! And many friends of mine I asked. Ya your thoughts to the cap of 100 games was exactly the same i had too! I LIKE YOU BRO <3

The idea of a %-win-rate is not what this concept wants.
I want a new way of progress for ANYONE.
Your Idea with the %-win-rate could maybe good somewhere else :-)

if you do it with percentages you should also have a min number of games like 50 or sth. so ppl dont try to go 1/0 with every champ for diamond borders.

i really like the idea tho, but i think the number of games should be slightly increased.
1000 seems idd a little much but maybe 500 for the highest border? because imo the diamond border should be sth rly special and not just be obtainable by playing "only" 100 games
